Radiant Shines With Release of DL-227
Transceiver
Huntington Beach, Cal. — Today at
SCTE’s Conference on Emerging Technologies, Radiant Communications announced the
launch of the industry’s first truly universal fiber optic transceiver, the
DL-227. This single unit enables auto negotiation of various transmission speeds
including 10, 100 and 1000 mbps.
Radiant’s copper-to-fiber media
converter transmits
up to 1 gigabit of data per second, a speed previously achieved only by
purchasing and installing additional hardware. Additional benefits include the
fact that the DL-227 is space economical and plug and play ready for easy
installation. The fiber port of Radiant’s newest transceiver operates in full
duplex mode, so the transmission distance is only limited by the power of the
optics.
The DL-227 transceiver meets IEEE
standard 802.3z/ab requirements and is backwards compatible with previously
released Radiant products. In addition, it has the ability to automatically
configure MDI crossover and can detect and self-correct common wiring problems
including pair swaps, skew and polarity issues. Options are available for one
and two fiber operation.
“Radiant
Communications has employed cutting edge engineering to develop the highest
performing transceiver currently available in the broadband market. The DL-227
offers a cost effective solution for MSOs seeking a transceiver that is designed
to support current and future applications,” stated Lou Nagorksy, Radiant’s
national sales manager.
